The conflict sparked wildfires in the mountains, and combined with persistent drought and high temperatures, major coffee-producing regions such as Huila Department and Cauca Department were severely affected, with large tracts of coffee crops destroyed. Coffee output in August fell by nearly 100,000 bags month-on-month.
